I was talking to my MIL yesterday about why the holidays always seem to bring out the crazy in families. We agreed that the root of most of it simply comes down to expectation of what we want them to be. I am no stranger to this.
I am hoping that this Christmas I personally can step back and step outside of those expectations and replace them with genuine joy and gratitude. I am hoping that wherever you are and whomever you are with, that you have a genuinely wonderful holiday. I pray for the grace to remember that no matter what happens we have something to be thankful for. Whether it be our family, friends, job, home, health... I hope that we can all have the ability to take a deep breathe and enjoy this special time.
I am thankful for the wonderful family I have. I am grateful for my job, with all of its challenges and rewards. I am blessed to have amazing friends who are there no matter what. Most of all I am overwhelmed with the love of my God who has given me faith and without whom this holiday would be so much less meaningful.
I will be grateful for this day...
Merry Christmas, friends. Happy Holidays and a Blessed New Year! See you all in 2013!
